There is plenty to do around Viella from relaxing walks, vineyard tours to the more energetic on and off road cycling, horse riding, even water sports on a nearby lake.

La Maison de Chameaux. A great local attraction & only 15 mins from here. There is plenty to see and do. They have a great range of animals from piglets to ponies, lapins to lamas and, of course 4 gorgeous camels. You can picnic in the woods, watch the demonstrations and even help train the animals. Wine festivals of Madiran & St Mont. There are over 100 small vineyards within easy drive of here all producing the robust reds of Madiran and St Mont and there are 3 big events every year to celebrate these wines. St Mont has an open weekend in March, Madiran wine festival takes place in August and the Madiran "Portes Ouvertes" happens late November. We can also orgainse tours of some of the local vineyards. Horse riding There are several stables close by catering for all levels of horsemanship. The countryside here is stunning and ideal for exploring on horseback.
Hiking Viella has plenty of marked paths around the village which range from a couple of hours to whole days. Within the region, the choice is almost endless. The region is hilly so you need a certain of fitness for some of our hikes. We have local maps and guides for guests to borrow.
Cycling Plenty of routes available for both on and off road cyclists. We have some route maps for Guests to borrow.
Jazz in Marciac Every year for two weeks in August, Marciac holds one of the largest jazz festivals in the world. There are also concerts throughout the year. More details can be found on their website http://www.jazzinmarciac.com/.
4x4 Viella has its' own 4x4 club which organises various events including 4x4 weekends around Viella and Madiran (May & November) where you have the opportunity to try your hand at driving through some of the challanging terrain and across normally private land and through local vineyards. There are separate weekends for Quads and scramblers too! During the winter the club is usually out most weekends. We can provide details of local clubs.
Leisure lakes at Plaisance and Cahuzac sur Adour Loads of things to do here from sailing and fishing to swimming, water skiing and "Banana boating". Both are only 20minutes away from Viella.
Grottos/caves. The Pyrenees has some on the most stunning caves to be seen. There are also the famous cave paintings of Lescar, just an hour away (Advance booking advised).
